BCES 3rd grade students visited "Destination Ag" in Tifton Georgia. While there they participated in hands-on activities in Georgia and Productive Resources that are linked to Science and Social Studies standards in 3rd grade. Actively and Physically taking part while learning changes things! So much fun for BCES 3rd graders!

BCES exceptional classes visited the Jacksonville Zoo and Bitty and Beau's Coffee Shop, on Wednesday, April 26th. Mr. Callahan and Ms. Yearty's class enjoyed learning about various animal kingdoms, visiting the Dinosauria, and riding the train and carousel. They topped off their afternoon with delicious smoothies and frappes from Bitty and Beau's.

Bacon County Middle School Athletics was selected for one of two awards that were up for grabs by the ten talented schools within our conference.

BCHS students in Miss Medders' Healthcare Science class used Infection Control Learning Centers to apply fundamental skills over Chain of Infection and Medical Precautions.

Students in Mr. Turner's Physical Science class, are working on an assignment to color code sections of the periodic table and identify different characteristics of elements on the periodic table.

BCES 4th grade students are studying the "air of weather" in their science classes. What they discovered was that warm air rises and cold air sinks during their science experiment in STEM‼ Hands on learning is so much fun‼

Gunner, Scooter, and Jacob are analyzing political speeches to learn more about WWII and how Hitler came to power, while in Mr. McKenzie's World History class.

BCHS named their Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian this week. A huge Congratulations goes out to Mr. Cooper Loggins, Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Ms. Allison Elrod, Class of 2023 Salutatorian. Such an honor to have earned these titles. Another honorable title has also been achieved by BCHS 2023 Honor Graduates. These students have strived for greatness and have succeeded! Congratulations to each of these students on a job well done!

BCES students in Ms. Taylor's 3rd grade group are reviewing division skills, along with test taking strategies in small groups during math class. These Raiders will be ready for their Georgia Milestones next week!

BCHS in conjunction with Alma-Bacon County Development Authority has been extremely busy preparing students for the workforce. Together they are working to be sure that students have a plan and a skill that allows them to be successful in life after graduation. The Career Ready cohort worked with Mr. Lacy Hines from Coastal Pines Technical College on forklift operation. Students who are part of this work based program have now earned their forklift certification and are able to add yet another skill onto their resume.
