BCHS Competition Cheerleaders Compete in GHSA State Competition

BCHS Competition Cheerleaders along with their coaches, Tanya Bourdeau, Mary Mavis Bourdeau, & Crystal Roberts, and an enormous crowd of BC fans, traveled to Macon, Georgia, on Saturday, October 12th, to compete in the GHSA state competition. These ladies did an outstanding job finishing 8th after competing against the top 16 1 A schools in the state of Georgia.

BCHS FFA Places 1st at Okefenokee Agriculture Fair

The BCHS FFA chapter attended the Okefenokee Agricultural Fair in Waycross on Oct. 9th. BCHS FFA Senior Livestock Judging team placed first at the fair with Dawson Taylor, being the high score overall,& Kylie Kelley & Bristol Feagle placed fourth overall. BCHS FFA Senior Agricultural Tool Identification team consisted of Darren Taylor who was the fifth highest individual along with Lane Ferguson and Madison Morris being the other team members. An outstanding effort was made by all members who competed!

BCMS FFA Tree ID Team places Second

BCMS FFA Tree ID team placed 2nd in the junior division at the Okefenokee fair recently out of 15 teams. The juniors are responsible for knowing 55 trees and identifying them correctly.

BCMS Livestock Judging Team places 2nd at Okefenokee Fair

BCMS FFA Livestock Judging team recently placed 2nd out of 20 teams at the Okefenokee Fair Contest. The team is preparing for the Area contest in January. Ellie Jo Johnson was the 2nd highest individual among the 60 juniors. The team had to judge 4 classes of animals and place them according to quality and correctness. Outstanding job by our BCMS FFA!

FCCLA Officers receive Statesman Award

During the FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference Taylor, Trey, Savanna and Brileigh received the Statesman Award.
This is an individual event to recognize members with the Statesman Lapel Pin for their knowledge of FCCLA and Georgia FCCLA after taking a test‼️

BCMS Reading Challenge!

BCMS students in Ms. Mosley’s connections class have been competing in a reading challenge. Jacob & Gracie have completed the 1st segment of the challenge–to read 20 books independently!

Bagley places 1st in Membership Recruitment

Brileigh Bagley, placed 1st in Membership Recruitment at the FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference at Camp John Hope!
This is a chapter event which recognizes a chapter that creates a display which illustrates and describes their chapter’s membership recruitment plan and techniques. Membership Recruitment displays are based on the membership recruitment techniques. The display is informative, well organized with the use of brochures, videos, t-shirts, newsletters, and/or photos‼️ We are so proud that there are so many future leaders attending BCSD‼️

BCHS Agriculture Soil Identification

Students in Mr. Slice's Basic Agriculture Education class practice classifying soil types of different samples of soil based upon each soil sample’s color, smell, and/or texture during one of their laboratory assignments. Determining soil texture can help you learn about possible restrictions and advantages of the soil.
