Author Eric Carle- Stem Project

BCPS second grade Stem Lab students have been doing an author study of Eric Carle. He is the author and illustrator of over 70 children's books but most famous for The Very Hungry Caterpillar. He is known for his brightly colored collage pictures. The Eric Carle mural project had multiple steps and took three weeks to complete. First the students painted papers then used tools such as cups, spoons, forks, and craft sticks to add texture to the wet paint. Once the art papers were dry the students cut the painted paper to create a caterpillar and butterfly collage.
